Casting360 Review 1

A small-town, Midwest girl is determined to make it in Hollywood – and now, with Casting360, her chances of being discovered are one click away. Founded in 2010, Casting360 combines the functionality behind Internet matchmaking with the business needs of entertainment industry professionals. The company’s website, Casting360.com, boasts one of the world’s largest databases of talent.

Casting360 allows directors, photographers, filmmakers, and other industry execs to search for talent on its website. In addition to enabling these professionals to post casting calls, Casting360 also allows members to search talent portfolios and reach performers directly. The database holds the names of models, extras, singers, dancers, actors, and musicians of all backgrounds, ages, and “types.”

Casting360 charges no fee for industry professionals. Instead, performers pay a fee to create their portfolios, which can include photos, audio samples, and even video. Casting360 provides a technical advisor for people needing assistance setting up their portfolio or who have other questions about entertainment-industry norms. Casting360 also schedules seminars featuring industry experts as well as video acting classes. These classes, packaged in 10-minute videos, teach the basic requirements behind successful auditions, acting techniques, head shots, monologues, resumes, and other important information.

Casting360 teachers include Doug Traer, who has participated in the casting of more than 1,500 commercials and who has personally viewed more than 150,000 commercial auditions. His personal resume includes dozens of appearances in commercials as well as a how-to book on landing a job in commercials. Casting360 also features Marty Pistone, who teaches motivational speaking. A producer, assistant director, and actor, Marty adds Casting360 to his other teaching positions, which have included assignments at Stanford University, Julliard School of the Arts, and the American Conservatory Theater.

Casting360 operates on a monthly basis and may be canceled at any time. Even after cancellation, Casting360 keeps former members’ portfolios active for talent searches.
